Tayari Jones’ Leaving Atlanta, a novel set against the backdrop of the Atlanta Child Murders, was published by Warner Books in 2002 and has received numerous distinctions including the Hurston/Wright Legacy Award, “Best Novel of the Year,” by Atlanta Magazine and Creative Loafing Newspaper. Tayari Jones’ fiction and nonfiction have appeared in New Stories from the South, The Believer, Crab Orchard Review and others. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of English at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
